Sensor not working properly?

Not connecting, calibration errors, or imaging software crashes. Here's what causes it and how to get your sensor back on track.

Common Problems

The usual suspects.

Most sensor issues come down to drivers, USB connections, software configuration, or calibration, not the sensor hardware itself. These problems are almost always fixable without replacing anything.

Sensor not connecting. Doesn't appear in the imaging software or throws a connection error. Usually a driver issue, bad USB cable, or unpowered hub.

Calibration errors. Sensor connects but imaging software reports a calibration failure. Often a missing or corrupted calibration file that can be reset remotely.

Imaging software crashes. Software closes or freezes when the sensor is in use. Typically caused by driver conflicts or outdated software versions.

Exposure and ghosting issues. Images are too bright, too dark, or show ghosting artifacts. Usually an exposure setting or filter configuration problem.

Poor image quality. Grainy, low-contrast, or noisy images. Often filter settings or calibration that needs adjustment for optimal image output.

Tip: Always connect sensors directly to a USB port on the computer, not through a hub. Hubs can't reliably deliver the consistent power sensors require.
